As a Senior Software Engineer (Identity) at FairMoney, you will join the Identity engineering squad. Key Responsibilities for This Senior Software Engineer Job

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems for Identity, KYC, authentication, and related services.
• Take ownership of complex technical projects from design through implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Build reliable distributed systems and services that can support millions of customers across multiple markets.
• Work closely with Product, Risk, Compliance, and other engineering teams to deliver effective identity and KYC solutions.
• Contribute to technical architecture, engineering standards, code reviews, and best practices within the Identity squad.
• Identify and resolve performance, scalability, reliability, and security challenges across systems.
• Use AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering practices to improve productivity and software delivery.

Technical Stack for This Role

• The customer-facing product is an Android application.
• It communicates with Ruby on Rails or Go-lang backends (Sidekiq, RSpec).
• The ML pipeline is API-Flask (Python).
• Hosted on AWS: Kubernetes, SNS, SQS, Lambdas, RDS Aurora MySQL and PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, S3, and Kinesis.
• A prototype data warehouse on GCP (GCS, BigQuery, Cloud Composer).
• CI/CD pipeline runs on GitHub Actions.

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong experience designing and building distributed systems and scalable backend services.
• Experience working with Go, or strong experience in another backend language with a willingness to transition to Go.
