About Moniepoint

Moniepoint is Africa’s all-in-one financial ecosystem, empowering businesses and their customers with seamless payment, banking, credit, and management tools.

In 2023, the company processed $182 billion, and it is Nigeria’s largest merchant acquirer. The Head, Group FP&A Remote Job supports strategic finance.

About the Role

This Head, Group FP&A Remote Job in Nigeria is a framework and consolidation role.

It focuses on building a shared FP&A structure and consistent reporting.

This enables top-level visibility into performance and outlook for the Group.

The successful candidate will lead the Head, Group FP&A Remote Job responsibilities, including the framework, methodology, and reporting standards.

This will provide Group leadership with a clear view of financial performance.

It covers outlook across Moniepoint Nigeria, Moniepoint Kenya, MonieWorld, and Moniepoint Technologies.

Some subsidiaries and markets run their own standalone FP&A teams that own local budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This role establishes the Group standard for those teams and consolidates their output, ensuring consistency across regions and functions within the organization globally.

Wherever a subsidiary or shared function doesn’t yet have a dedicated FP&A resource, this role covers it directly, with a goal of one Group framework executed locally and with no duplicated effort across all affected entities in every business unit it touches.

Responsibilities

Candidates applying for this Head, Group FP&A remote job in Nigeria will be expected to:

  • Design and own the Group’s FP&A framework, including forecasting architecture, budget process, and management-reporting standards used across every entity
  • Consolidate entity and business unit-level forecasts into a single Group P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow, with a working currency toggle and intercompany eliminations
  • Own the annual Group budget calendar and process, including templates, timelines, challenge sessions, and Board approval
  • Produce the consolidated Group forecast (2026-28 and beyond), reconciled monthly to actuals, with a clear bridge explaining variances
  • Work closely with the Group Financial Controller to ensure actuals, consolidation, and forecast reconcile cleanly month to month
  • Run monthly and quarterly reporting cycles at Group level, including consolidated management accounts, Board packs, and investor-grade reporting
  • Build and maintain the Group’s KPI and unit-economics framework, applied consistently across every entity’s finance team
  • Partner with BU CFOs and finance leads across Moniepoint Nigeria, Moniepoint Kenya, Moniepoint Technologies, and MonieWorld as the standard-setter and consolidator
  • Lead scenario and sensitivity modeling for Group-level strategic decisions, such as new market entry, capital raises, and license applications
  • Set and enforce FP&A style and modeling standards across the Group
  • Manage and develop the Group FP&A Analysts covering subsidiaries and markets without a dedicated resource, plus central shared services

Candidate Requirements

  • 8-10+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, or investment banking, including experience building forecasting frameworks from scratch
  • Proven experience consolidating multi-entity, multi-currency forecasts and management accounts
  • Background in banking, fintech, or another regulated, fast-growth environment
  • Advanced financial modeling skills (Excel at architect level), with comfort owning a model spanning multiple entities and currencies
  • ACA / ACCA / CFA or equivalent qualification
  • Proven ability to operate effectively as a remote, senior finance leader across time zones and geographies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a high-growth African or emerging-markets fintech or bank
  • Prior exposure to Board and investor reporting at Group level
  • Familiarity with planning/consolidation tooling such as NetSuite, Aleph, Pigment, or similar, beyond Excel
  • Experience standing up FP&A functions or frameworks during a scale-up phase

About You

The ideal candidate thinks in frameworks, building systems properly rather than patching them quarterly. They’re comfortable holding a multi-entity, multi-currency picture in their head and explaining it simply to the CFO and Board. They understand the difference between setting the standard and doing the work.

Additionally, they push back on numbers that don’t reconcile and are strong people managers who communicate with structure and precision. They operate well remotely—proactive, organized, and capable of driving a Group-wide process without being in the room, suitable for a Head, Group FP&A Remote Job.

What Success Looks Like

  • The Group forecast is reconciled to actuals monthly, with variances explained within an agreed tolerance
  • Management, Board, and investor reporting are delivered on time, every cycle, without late-stage rework
  • The budget process runs to a fixed calendar with BU sign-off and no material off-cycle changes
  • BU finance leads use the Group model and house standards as their working framework
  • The CFO and Group CEO treat the FP&A output as the single source of truth for decision-making

Hiring Process

  • A preliminary phone call with a recruiter
  • Hiring Manager Interview
  • A panel interview with existing Finance Leads
  • A behavioral and technical interview with a member of the Executive team
