Job Summary

Botmot Nigeria Limited is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accountant to join its FMCG business. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and managing daily accounting transactions. Additionally, they will support financial reporting, monitor receivables and payables, and ensure compliance with financial policies, regulations, and Seo standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills and attention to detail. They should have experience in a fast-paced FMCG, retail, distribution, or manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

As the Accountant, you will be responsible for:

• Recording and maintaining accurate daily financial transactions and accounting records.
• Preparing and reconciling bank statements, cashbooks, ledgers, and other financial accounts.
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Monitoring customer accounts, outstanding invoices, collections, and supplier payments.
• Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Monitoring sales revenue, expenses, inventory-related transactions, and operating costs.
• Reconciling inventory records with accounting records and investigating discrepancies.
• Preparing and maintaining accurate financial schedules and supporting documentation.
• Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Ensuring timely remittance and documentation of applicable taxes and statutory obligations.
• Identifying financial discrepancies, errors, and control weaknesses, and recommending corrective actions.
• Maintaining confidentiality of financial and company information.
• Performing other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

To qualify for this Accountant job in Rivers State, candidates should have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within FMCG, retail, distribution, manufacturing, or a similar environment.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ANAN is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software.
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.
