Description

Sundry Markets Limited is recruiting Department Managers to oversee its Non-Food and Ambient departments. The role assists the Branch Manager in coordinating daily operations to ensure product availability, maximize sales, and achieve target profit margins.

Key Responsibilities

• Run department operations effectively, ensuring timely ordering and replenishment for 100% shelf availability, and oversee movement of goods from the back store to the shop floor
• Own revenue and profit optimization for the department, and help the Branch Manager hit sales targets and drive year-on-year growth
• Monitor damaged and expired goods to minimize losses and control shrinkage
• Maintain high quality standards for Ambient and Non-Food products, ensure regulatory compliance, and keep retail prices and labels accurate and up to date
• Conduct regular market surveys to find new sourcing opportunities and give the Buyer competitive pricing insights
• Supervise and support crew training in line with development plans
• Drive product range selection and rotation, and keep standards consistent

Requirements

• B.Sc./HND in any related field
• Minimum of 4 years’ retail experience
• NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion letter
• Proven retail management experience, specifically in Non-Food, Ambient, or grocery categories
• Strong understanding of inventory management, profit margins, and shrinkage control
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail
• Strong analytical skills for market surveys and pricing analysis
• Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance in retail environments
