Job Description:

  • Provide World-Class Finance Operations Support: Deliver exceptional finance operations support to Shell Companies in Nigeria by leveraging cutting-edge technology and top-quartile technical skills.
  • Ensure Data Integrity and Accuracy: Play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of financial data for supported entities, ensuring that meaningful business insights can be derived from the data.
  • Attention to Detail and Big Picture Thinking: Combine meticulous attention to detail with the ability to understand and analyze the broader financial landscape.
  • Operate Across Finance Operations Spectrum: Engage in various areas within the finance operations spectrum, including:
    • Business Reporting and Analysis
    • Financial Reporting and Analysis
    • Expenditure Management
    • Revenue Management
    • Treasury Operations
    • Governance
    • Risk Management and Assurance
    • Provide Subject Matter Expertise and Support: Offer in-team subject matter expertise, peer guidance, and support to immediate teams and the broader finance operations function.

Job Location: This role is based in Lagos.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Specialist Expertise: Support the functional lead and team by offering specialist expertise to the Finance business area, maximizing the benefits of SAP implementation.
  • Guide SAP Application: Advise the business on the optimal use of SAP to manage relevant processes and achieve planned benefits.
  • User Interaction and Assistance: Assist users with varying levels of SAP skills, ensuring effective interaction and support.
  • Assess Organizational Impact: Evaluate the potential impact of organizational changes on SAP usage.
  • Develop and Review Training Materials: Participate in creating and reviewing training materials, and support training delivery to enhance SAP user effectiveness in FICO areas.
  • Promote Efficient SAP Use: Actively encourage the efficient use of SAP and monitor its impact on the business to realize identified benefits.
  • Evaluate Changes and Improvements: Assess proposed changes and improvement initiatives within the corporate context.
  • Prepare Management Information Reports: Compile monthly Management Information Reports/Dashboards for various stakeholders.
  • Ensure Fit-for-Purpose Solutions: Ensure SAP FICO and BW HANA solutions are updated timely to meet business requirements and are fit for purpose.
  • Standardize and Automate Reports: Standardize and automate Management Information reports using PowerBi, Alteryx, and other solutions.
  • Collaborate for Data Quality: Work with other stakeholders to ensure high-quality master and transaction data in SAP ECC and BW.
  • Develop Training Plans: Create and implement aggressive training plans to address identified competence gaps among end users.
  • Maintain Training Sessions: Conduct training sessions across Shell Companies in Nigeria (SEPCiN) locations to enhance SAP competence among end users.
  • Coordinate with Shell Central IT: Collaborate with the Shell Central IT & Process Excellence team to ensure Nigeria’s requirements are covered.

Proficiency Required in:

  • Data analytics and visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, Alteryx)
  • SAP (FI-CO) and Business Warehouse (BW)
  • Management information and reporting
  • IT knowledge and skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities

Planning, Budgeting, and Management Information Reporting:

Management information reporting and dashboard creation

  • Maintenance and standardization of reporting templates
  • Report automation using Macros and Visual Basic
  • Ensuring integrity and availability of master and transaction data
  • Uploading and updating business plans
  • Supporting the budget approval and cost recovery processes.

Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  2. Certifications: SAP Finance & Project Management certifications
  3. Experience: 3 to 10 years of post-graduation work experience in ERP systems management, with a solid understanding of financial concepts and standards
  4. Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP, Business Warehouse, or other ERP and Management Information (MI) systems
  5. Reporting Skills: Expertise in Management Information and reporting
  6. Stakeholder Management: Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  7. Change Management: Experience in ERP and Management Information systems change management
