Job Description
- The Procurement Officer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing supplies required for smooth operation. The role involves ensuring the timely procurement of quality food ingredients, beverages, kitchen supplies, and operational materials while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance with company procurement policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure food ingredients, beverages, kitchen supplies, and other operational materials required for daily restaurant operations.
- Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors to ensure consistent quality and competitive pricing.
- Prepare purchase orders, monitor deliveries, and ensure timely supply of materials to avoid operational disruptions.
- Conduct market research to obtain the best prices and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure adequate stock of required items.
- Inspect supplies upon delivery to ensure quality, quantity, and compliance with purchase specifications.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and documentation for accountability and reporting.
- Track procurement expenses and support management in controlling operational costs.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of procured items in line with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Support management in implementing procurement policies, vendor evaluation, and cost-saving initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in a related field with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in procurement, preferably within the hospitality or food service industry.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and cost control skills.
- Good knowledge of food ingredients, beverages, and restaurant supplies procurement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic inventory management systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills.
