Job Summary

We are currently seeking a qualified and proactive Sea & Air Shipping Officer to join our dynamic team in Port Harcourt. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing both sea and air freight processes, ensuring compliance, documentation, and timely execution of import logistics.

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers State
Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage hardcopy shipment files for both sea and air freight.
  • Apply for and follow up on SONCAP certificates for imported goods.
  • Handle PAAR (Pre-Arrival Assessment Report) applications and liaise with banks.
  • Communicate PAARs and shipping documents to LCAs (Logistics and Customs Agents).
  • Reconcile and respond to Customs Debit Notes (DNs) and other queries.
  • Follow up with LCAs on PAAR utilization and update progress on internal systems (W-Drive).
  • Prepare weekly PAAR status reports and monthly utilization summaries.
  • Maintain and update the Transit E-archive.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Manager.

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database management.
  • Experience with SAP is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
  • Ability to work independently and interface effectively with contractors and team members.
