Job Title: Senior Backend Engineer (Java)

Job Summary
Moniepoint is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Java) to join our engineering team. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality backend services for a global business payments and banking platform. You’ll work with cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, PostgreSQL, and AWS to enhance our microservices architecture.
Responsibilities
- Design algorithms and flowcharts with developers.
- Write clean, efficient, and scalable code in Java and Spring Boot.
- Integrate third-party services and software components.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and upgrade existing systems.
- Gather and analyze user feedback for continuous improvement.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
Requirements
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years experience in backend development using Java & Spring Boot.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and test-driven development.
- Strong knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB) and ORM frameworks (Hibernate).
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture on AWS.
- Experience with Git, AngularJS, Elasticsearch is a plus.
- Problem-solving mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for learning new technologies.
