The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially announced the release of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results. The examination, which saw the participation of over 1.9 million candidates across Nigeria, is a critical step for students seeking admission into tertiary institutions.
However, the Board has disclosed that it is withholding the results of 39,834 candidates due to issues related to examination malpractice and irregularities. According to JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, investigations are ongoing, and 80 individuals are currently being interrogated in connection with various forms of exam fraud. Anambra State recorded the highest number of suspects, with 14 under investigation.
In addition, Professor Oloyede revealed that 467 underage candidates managed to meet the minimum UTME score requirement. Unfortunately, 50 of these candidates were linked to cheating during the exam process.
Checking Your 2025 UTME Result Made Simple
JAMB has made it easy for candidates to check their results using the Short Messaging Service (SMS). The mobile-based result-checking service remains in place to ensure all 1.95 million registered candidates have quick access to their scores.
Steps to Check Your UTME Result via SMS:
- Open the messaging app on the phone you used for JAMB registration.
- Type RESULT (in capital letters), followed by a space and your JAMB Registration Number.
- Send the message to 55019 or 66019.
- Wait for a response from JAMB containing your scores for each subject.
