Job Summary
- We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Accountant to manage financial records, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and provide strategic financial insights that support business decision-makin
- The Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining the company’s financial health while supporting operations in a fast-paced technology and data-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial statements.
- Monitor and manage company budgets, expenditures, and revenue streams.
- Ensure accurate recording of transactions including invoices, receipts, payroll, and expenses.
Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Track project-based financial performance and cost allocation.
Compliance & Taxation:
- Ensure compliance with Nigerian financial regulations and accounting standards.
- Prepare and file statutory tax returns including VAT, PAYE, and company taxes.
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities when necessary.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Ensure timely invoicing and collection of payments.
- Monitor outstanding payments and manage vendor accounts.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist management in financial planning and budgeting.
- Develop financial forecasts to guide operational and investment decisions.
Internal Controls:
- Implement internal financial controls and risk management procedures.
- Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy of financial reporting
- Timeliness of financial submissions
- Compliance with regulatory requirements
- Efficient financial record management
- Cost control and budget adherence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ACA is an added advantage.
- 3 – 5 years accounting experience.
- Experience working with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Zoho, or similar).
Required Skills:
- Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of Nigerian tax and financial regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote work environment
- Good communication and collaboration skills
