We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Accountant to manage financial records, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and provide strategic financial insights that support business decision-makin
  • The Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining the company’s financial health while supporting operations in a fast-paced technology and data-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management:

  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial statements.
  • Monitor and manage company budgets, expenditures, and revenue streams.
  • Ensure accurate recording of transactions including invoices, receipts, payroll, and expenses.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Track project-based financial performance and cost allocation.

Compliance & Taxation:

  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Prepare and file statutory tax returns including VAT, PAYE, and company taxes.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities when necessary.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Ensure timely invoicing and collection of payments.
  • Monitor outstanding payments and manage vendor accounts.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Assist management in financial planning and budgeting.
  • Develop financial forecasts to guide operational and investment decisions.

Internal Controls:

  • Implement internal financial controls and risk management procedures.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Accuracy of financial reporting
  • Timeliness of financial submissions
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Efficient financial record management
  • Cost control and budget adherence.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or ACA is an added advantage.
  • 3 – 5 years accounting experience.
  • Experience working with accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Zoho, or similar).

Required Skills:

  • Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of Nigerian tax and financial regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote work environment
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
