Job Description
The electrical engineer will be tasked with ensuring the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems, conducting routine inspections, and verifying the proper functionality of all protection relays and associated accessories.
Responsibilities
- Execute and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure availability, reliability, and safe operation of assets across electrical asset groups.
- Ensure all plant patrols are completed daily as assigned.
- Perform breakdown/corrective maintenance tasks daily as assigned.
- Report summary of breakdown/corrective maintenance activities daily on IBM Maximo as assigned.
- Compile maintenance reports and ensure timely submission.
- Monitor and oversee all third-party jobs to ensure timely completion, quality, and adherence to scope of work.
- Maintain awareness of and apply Quality & HSE policies on assigned jobs.
- Understand and apply departmental/process objectives.
- Recognize contributions to the effectiveness of the IMS, promoting improved performance benefits.
- Understand the risks associated with not conforming to EGBIN IMS requirements.
- Strictly adhere to safety guidelines and safe work procedures during maintenance activities.
- Comply with all company codes of conduct.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Senior Engineers/Team Leads and Section Head.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Membership in NSE, MNATE, and COREN registration is an advantage.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
Additional Qualifications
- Technical proficiency in electrical systems.
- Understanding of equipment operation and history.
- Familiarity with standard operating procedures for main plant and transformers maintenance.
- Technical troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and environmental considerations in power generation.
- Understanding of power generation processes, commercial aspects, and tariff structures.
- Familiarity with modern maintenance management practices and spare inventory management.
- Knowledge of statutory guidelines related to electrical equipment and engineering principles.
- Proficiency in technical report writing.
