Job Description:

  • Deliver exceptional Finance operations support to Shell Companies in Nigeria, utilizing advanced technology and top-tier technical expertise
  • Serve as a cornerstone in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data across supported entities, facilitating the extraction of insightful business intelligence. This role demands meticulous attention to detail paired with the ability to maintain a strategic perspective.
  • Engage across various key areas within Finance operations, such as Business Reporting and Analysis, Financial Reporting and Analysis, Expenditure, Revenue, Treasury, Governance, Risk Management, and Assurance.
  • Provide specialized subject matter expertise, peer guidance, and support to immediate teams and the broader Finance operations function internally. This position is based in Lagos.

Responsibilities:

  • Business Finance:
    • Manage Cash Management activities, including Budget Performance Monitoring, Workplan & Budget Analysis, and Latest Estimates.
    • Execute Ledger Entries and oversee cost allocation processes.
    • Produce Management Information reports and maintain SAP Cost Objects.
    • Provide Requisition to Pay Finance Support.
    • Conduct reviews on Assets under Construction and Difference in Exchange.
  • SAP/BW Management:
    • Utilize Data Analytics and Visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, and Alteryx.
    • Employ SAP (FI-CO) and Business Warehouse for data management.
    • Generate Management Information and Reporting.
    • Apply IT knowledge and skills to enhance data analysis and problem-solving.
  • Expenditure:
    • Process Payroll and ensure Statutory Compliance.
    • Manage Vendor Relations and Invoice Processing.
    • Oversee Intragroup Accounting and Indirect Tax & Transfer Pricing.
    • Conduct Disbursement audit and Treasury Operations.
  • Revenue:
    • Calculate Hydrocarbon entitlements and manage Customer Billings.
    • Allocate Receipts and oversee Receivables Management.
    • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Compile Group reporting and prepare Statutory accounts.
    • Manage Financial Statement Latest Estimates and Fixed Assets accounting.
    • Perform Reconciliations and oversee Working Capital Management.
    • Review and improve Systems (SAP/BW).
  • Treasury:
    • Forecast Cash and manage Counterparty Risk.
    • Execute Fund Management operations and oversee Payment processing.
    • Manage Card transaction processes.
  • Governance & Risk Assurance:
    • Ensure Sox compliance and review Controls.
    • Manage Disbursement Audit and Incident reporting.
    • Planning, Budgeting & Management Information Reporting:
    • Generate Management Information Reporting and Dashboards.
    • Maintain and standardize Reporting Templates.
    • Automate reports using Macros and Visual Basic.
    • Ensure integrity and availability of Master and transaction data.
    • Support Business Plan upload and update processes.
    • Assist in Budget approval and cost recovery processes.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  2. Possession of a professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA is required.
  3. Minimum of 6 to 10 years of post-graduation work experience in accounting or finance analyst roles, with a solid grasp of financial concepts and standards.
  4. Considerable experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:
    • Utilization of SAP, Business Warehouse, or other ERP and Management Information systems.
    • Management Information and reporting.
    • Stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
    • Treasury management and operations or banking experience.
    • Financial accounting, controlling, and reporting.
    • Post-qualification experience in audit practice and/or assurance services.
    • Development of Management Information solutions using macros and Visual Basic.
    • Experience in ERP and Management Information systems change management.
