Myrtle Management Consultants Limited is recruiting on behalf of its client—an established leader in the West African Oil & Gas and maritime industry with over 20 years of operational excellence. The company is widely known for providing specialized marine support services, particularly security and surveillance vessels.

We are looking to engage a qualified and proactive Crewing Coordinator to support HR and crewing operations, ensuring the company’s fleet is manned by competent and certified seafarers.

Job Summary

The Crewing Coordinator will be responsible for a broad range of crewing and HR support functions, including recruitment, manpower planning, crew logistics, document management, and payroll assistance. You will ensure vessel operations are efficiently staffed, compliant, and supported by a pool of qualified maritime professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the implementation of crewing strategies and HR procedures
  • Support monthly crew mobilization, rotation planning, and onboarding logistics
  • Manage crew accommodations and onboarding schedules
  • Interface with manning agents and verify crew documentation
  • Maintain and update seafarers’ database in line with company and client requirements
  • Coordinate Offshore Safety Permit renewals and statutory certifications (e.g., PENCOM, NSITF)
  • Facilitate employee appraisals, recruitment, onboarding, and exit processes
  • Support payroll processing and medical retainership liaison
  • Draft internal/external memos and maintain HR records
  • Provide support in staff grievance handling and community relations
  • Promote compliance with safety standards and confidentiality protocols

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus)
  • 2–3 years’ relevant experience in crewing and HR functions, preferably in marine or oil & gas sectors
  • Relevant certifications such as CIPM, CIPD, SHRM, HRCI, or Crew Management Diploma are an advantage
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision

Required Skills

  • Solid understanding of HR processes and marine labor laws (MLC 2010, MIMASA, etc.)
  • Proficiency in HRIS and crew management systems
  • Strong planning and report-writing abilities
  • Crisis management and document handling
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with seafarers and stakeholders
