Job Summary
We’re looking for a creative and tech-savvy Social Media Content Creator to join our communications team. This role is ideal for someone who’s passionate about technology and storytelling, and who’s excited to build brand engagement in the B2B tech space.
As part of the communications team, reporting to the Director of Communications, you’ll be responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing social media content that resonates with technical audiences. You’ll be part of a collaborative team and have the freedom to test new ideas, measure results, and refine strategy in real time.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement communication strategies across multiple channels with a focus on execution and timely delivery
- Analyze and report on the performance of social media campaigns and content across all channels
- Grow Canonical’s digital audience and boost engagement across platforms
- Create compelling, on-brand copy and digital assets that drive user interaction
- Conduct A/B and multivariate testing to optimize content effectiveness
- Engage directly with audiences, moderate communities, and manage platform interactions
- Promote product launches, webinars, announcements, and thought leadership campaigns
- Translate complex technical topics into accessible, engaging content for social channels
Job Requirements
- Solid knowledge of tech communications and an understanding of content best practices in the B2B technology space
- Hands-on experience with social media management tools, especially Sprout Social, and familiarity with web analytics platforms like Google Analytics
- Proven success managing multi-channel content across platforms such as LinkedIn, YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, Facebook (Meta), and Reddit
- A creative and analytical mindset, capable of crafting engaging content and using data to inform and refine strategy
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail
- The ability to juggle multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality
- Experience with project management tools like Jira (preferred but not required)
- An interest in video and multimedia content, with an eye for how these formats can enhance social engagement
- Willingness to travel up to four times per year for team or industry events
