Job Title: Country Security Manager

Job Summary

As the Nigeria Security Manager, you will serve as the primary advisor on all security matters for the company’s operations in Nigeria. You will assess and mitigate security risks, ensure compliance with company policies, and maintain a secure environment for operations and personnel. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will lead efforts to align security measures with the organization’s risk profile.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive, risk-based security program tailored to Nigeria’s operational landscape.
  • Conduct regular threat and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement cost-effective solutions.
  • Lead audits of vendors, contractors, customers, and facilities to identify risks.
  • Implement and monitor mitigation plans to address identified risks.
  • Ensure timely reporting, investigation, and resolution of all security incidents.
  • Oversee the documentation and follow-up of incidents to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide technical security expertise during customer evaluations and tender processes.
  • Develop crisis management programs and deliver security awareness training for employees.
  • Facilitate security assessments and conduct emergency response drills to evaluate and improve risk controls.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent) in a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in security risk management, particularly in the oil & gas sector or similar industries.
  • Significant security background, such as Military, Police, DSS, or corporate security experience.
  • Experience developing and enhancing security programs and conducting investigations (e.g., theft, asset loss, or misconduct).
  • In-depth knowledge of security technologies, current issues, and related laws.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in challenging situations.
  • Proficiency in analytical and computer skills for data-driven decision-making.
  • Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships in a multicultural and global matrix environment.
  • Valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate (clearly indicated on the resume).
  • Ability to travel and work from both Port Harcourt operational sites and Lagos offices.
