UNILAG redefine identity with new logo and solar buses

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has taken a significant step toward achieving a zero-emissions campus by introducing solar-powered buses. At the event, the university also revealed an updated logo, reflecting its dedication to environmental sustainability and progress.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Folasade Ogunsola announced that the buses were generously donated by alumni from Ogata Global Resources and Chart Eco Global Services. She highlighted UNILAG’s commitment to improving air quality and reducing pollution as part of its broader environmental goals.

She also emphasized that the updated logo reflects the university’s evolving brand and encouraged its adoption by partners and stakeholders to align with UNILAG’s forward-thinking vision.

Prof. Ogunsola explained that the solar-electric buses, designed for public transportation on campus, represent a cost-effective, eco-friendly solution to benefit students and staff while preserving the environment.

Henry Eke, Chairman of Ogata Global Resources Limited, noted that the “UNILAG Zero Emission Drive” seeks to support students and the university community by reducing transportation costs and fostering a cleaner environment. Currently, eight buses are operational, with plans to expand the fleet. This initiative marks a significant step in UNILAG’s journey towards a pollution-free campus and underscores its commitment to sustainable innovation.
