Description

The client requires an experienced Toddler & Nursery Class Teacher to deliver play-based learning and care for toddler and nursery classes.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate, play-based lessons for Toddler and Nursery classes
• Focus on EYFS areas: Communication & Language, Personal, Social & Emotional Development, Physical Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts
• Use phonics, number play, songs, rhymes, and stories to build foundational skills
• Provide individualized learning and care for toddlers while introducing structured learning for nursery
• Ensure the safety, hygiene, and well-being of all children at all times
• Manage combined age groups with patience and creativity
• Create a warm, colorful, and stimulating classroom environment
• Observe, assess, and keep records of each child’s progress and developmental milestones
• Identify learning needs and speech or behavioral delays early, and escalate appropriately
• Build positive relationships with parents, giving daily feedback on feeding, toileting, behavior, and learning
• Work closely with teaching assistants, nannies, and other Early Years teachers
• Uphold school safeguarding, health, and safety policies
• Attend trainings, meetings, and school events

Requirements

• NCE or B.Ed in Early Childhood Education or Primary Education
• 3–4 years’ experience handling Toddler and Nursery classes combined in a reputable school or crèche
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and Montessori approach is an advantage
• Very patient, loving, energetic, and passionate about toddlers
• Good communication skills and neat appearance
• Must reside in Lagos
