Description

Sundry Markets Limited is recruiting Receiving Managers to oversee warehouse operations across several locations. The role covers the efficient receiving, storage, and distribution of goods, with accurate inventory management, good use of space, and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule and manage the receiving bay, people, equipment, and delivery windows to reduce congestion, detention, and unsafe handling
• Accept deliveries only against a valid approved PO or authorized exception, and verify supplier, SKU, quantity, unit, condition, batch, expiry, and acceptance standards
• Carry out count and quality checks before acknowledgement, and record shortages, overages, substitutions, damages, and rejections on delivery documents and in the system
• Complete Goods Received Notes accurately within the agreed SLA, attaching the PO, invoice or delivery note, and discrepancy evidence
• Apply food-safety, cold-chain, and hygiene controls, and quarantine non-conforming goods while notifying Food Safety/Compliance and relevant managers
• Coordinate prompt put-away or handover to departments, keeping a clear audit trail from gate to storage or sales floor
• Process supplier returns and rejected deliveries, and track debit and credit note documentation with the Branch Accountant and Sourcing/Category teams
• Prevent unauthorized access, collusion, duplicate receiving, and retrospective document alteration, and escalate suspected misconduct
• Reconcile unposted receipts and open delivery discrepancies daily with the Inventory Controller and Branch Accountant
• Maintain receiving-bay housekeeping, equipment readiness, HSE compliance, and complete audit records

Requirements

• B.Sc./HND in Supply Chain Management or a related field
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in similar roles
• NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion letter
• Proven experience as a Warehouse Manager or in a similar supervisory warehouse role
• Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (ERP) and warehouse procedures
• Excellent understanding of health, safety, and security regulations, including handling hazardous materials
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train and motivate staff
• Analytical mindset, with the ability to generate and interpret operational reports
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement
