Dokitami is recruiting for this role to transform scripts, voice-overs, raw footage, and other creative materials into polished, high-performing video content for social media, paid advertising, and digital campaigns. It’s a strong fit for creative job seekers with strong storytelling instincts who can work independently, meet a minimum weekly output, and ideally bring AI video tool experience to the table.

Quick Facts

  • Job Title: Video Editor

About the Role

Dokitami is looking for a creative and highly skilled Video Editor (Remote) who can transform scripts, voice-overs, raw footage, B-roll, stock assets, and other creative materials into polished, engaging, high-performing video content. The ideal candidate understands that great editing goes beyond simply putting clips together — interpreting a script, understanding the story being told, and making creative decisions around visuals, pacing, typography, transitions, sound, and captions to keep viewers engaged.

Core Job Functions for This Video Editor Role

  • Video Editing: Edit short-form and long-form videos for social media, paid advertising, and digital campaigns.
  • Asset Integration: Transform scripts, voice-overs, raw footage, B-roll, stock footage, images, music, and other assets into finished videos.
  • Visual Storytelling: Create engaging pacing, transitions, captions, subtitles, typography, and visual storytelling that support the narration.
  • Asset Sourcing: Select and source appropriate stock footage, images, music, and other creative assets where required.
  • AI-Assisted Editing: Use AI-generated assets and AI-assisted workflows where appropriate.
  • Post-Production: Apply appropriate color correction, sound design, transitions, effects, and other post-production techniques.
  • Creative Contribution: Follow creative direction while contributing original ideas to improve the quality and performance of each edit.
  • Revisions & Delivery: Make revisions based on feedback and deliver completed videos within agreed timelines.
  • Brand Consistency: Maintain consistency with Dokitami’s brand identity, visual standards, and platform requirements.
  • File Management: Manage and organize raw footage, project files, assets, and final exports.
  • Trend Awareness: Keep up with current video-editing trends and creative approaches relevant to social media and performance marketing.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the videographer and creative team to maintain an efficient content production workflow.

Performance Expectations

The successful candidate will be expected to consistently deliver assigned video edits within agreed timelines, maintain a high standard of editing quality, respond promptly to feedback, and contribute creative ideas. The existing Dokitami engagement structure specifies a minimum of five edited videos per week, with performance assessed on output consistency, quality, turnaround time, responsiveness to feedback, creative contribution, organization, and collaboration.
