Job Summary

Managing Technology Needs within Budget Targets

• Assist and/or provide input to IT Leadership for CAPEX and department operating budgets based on anticipated IT projects and property support needs.
• Confirm that properties are in compliance with Marriott International Policies (MIPs) and Information Security Manuals (ISMs). Implement solutions as directed to resolve discrepancies.
• Place equipment orders relating to personal computers, telecommunications, and local servers/networks; process invoices for the property.
• Conduct periodic inventories of applications and hardware; prepare reports as requested.
• Confirm that technology assets are secured.
• Comply with technology-related vendor contracts.

Building and Sustaining Relationships with Customers

• Write and present proposals, analyses, project plans, and cost models, in written and/or oral formats.
• Provide customer service to associates at dedicated properties.
• Respond to inquiries from customers, vendors, and peer groups.
• Provide detailed status reports as requested.

Verifying Client Technology Needs Are Met

• Assist in disaster recovery and business continuity as it relates to technology.
• Provide technical guidance.
• Escalate support for all Marriott-approved technology solutions, including mobility devices and GPNS, and Request Center processes.
• Support guest and associate internet access requirements.
• Escalate problems as appropriate through direct supervisor, CLS IT Field, and/or Marriott IT sources.
• Image desktops, install new software applications, apply patches, and map drives to the appropriate server/network.
• Move, add, and change PCs/peripherals, migrating data when necessary.
• Perform routine desktop backup as scheduled or directed.
• Provide end-user support.
• Confirm technology security (such as encryption and patch deployment) and compliance measures (such as Quarterly ID Audits and MAARK1) are in place.
• Support unit infrastructure, including servers, switches, routers, and APs, engaging appropriate MI IT and/or vendor resources.
• Assist in creating and maintaining a secure server environment. Perform server backups and routine preventative maintenance.
• Pull through support for corporate, regional, and property initiatives.

Candidate Profile

Required

• A high school diploma or GED with 2-4 years of experience in Information Technology or a related professional area, OR a 2-year Degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related major, with 2 years of experience in a related professional area.

Preferred

• System-related professional certifications.
