About the Role

This Travel Consultant job in Lagos is a full-time position for someone with genuine enthusiasm for traveling. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and booking travel arrangements for clients, both individuals and businesses, with the goal of enhancing customer satisfaction and building an expanding, loyal clientele.

Salary: N150,000 – N350,000 monthly

Responsibilities

Candidates applying for this Travel Consultant job in Lagos will be expected to meet the qualifications.

Research various destinations and travel options, including prices, customs, weather conditions, and reviews
Assess clients’ specifications and preferences and recommend suitable travel packages or services
Organize travel from start to finish, including booking tickets, accommodation, and rental transportation
Provide travelers with useful information and materials such as guides, maps, and event programs
Collect deposits and balances from clients
Use promotional techniques and prepare promotional materials to sell itinerary tour packages
Handle unforeseen problems and complaints, and determine eligibility for refunds
Attend conferences to stay current on tourism trends
Create and update electronic client records
Maintain relationships with key contacts and partners
Keep accurate financial statements and documents
Work toward achieving revenue and profit targets

Requirements and Skills

Degree in Hospitality, Travel, Tourism, Business, or a related field
Proven working experience as a Travel Consultant
Excellent knowledge of travel software, including computer reservation systems, GDS systems, and e-travel platforms
Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage
Exemplary sales skills with a customer-oriented approach
Strong knowledge across various areas of travel, including domestic/international and business/holiday, group/individual bookings
Ability to present, persuade, and communicate effectively
Demonstrable ability to handle crises
