Job Summary

Location: Offshore, Port Harcourt
Job Type: Permanent Contract (Full-time)
Industry: Oil & Gas / Maintenance

The Senior Instrument / Metering Technician will carry out and supervise offshore maintenance activities. The role ensures safe operations, equipment reliability, and full compliance with company standards. You will also lead a team of technicians and support continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Operations

  • Plan and perform maintenance tasks
  • Supervise technicians on site
  • Support specialists under maintenance contracts
  • Restore systems after breakdowns
  • Ensure equipment is safe and functional

HSE Compliance

  • Follow all HSE and permit-to-work rules
  • Conduct risk assessments before tasks
  • Ensure proper use of PPE
  • Perform routine safety inspections

Technical Reporting

  • Record all interventions in CMIMS
  • Submit technical and maintenance reports
  • Monitor system performance
  • Report recurring issues

Team Supervision & Quality

  • Manage and guide technicians
  • Train and mentor team members
  • Check work quality on site
  • Ensure proper job handover
  • Confirm team competency

Continuous Improvement

  • Analyse recurring faults
  • Improve maintenance processes
  • Review preventive maintenance plans
  • Recommend system upgrades

Requirements

  • B.Eng. or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 8 years’ oil and gas maintenance experience
  • Strong knowledge of oil and gas processing equipment
  • Experience with custody transfer systems
  • Experience with small provers
  • Hands-on experience with OEM flow computers
  • Offshore experience required
