We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for the position of QA/QC Engineer.

Job Summary

Location: Rivers State
Employment Type: Full-time

The QA/QC Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the company’s marine logistics operations and services consistently meet required quality standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will oversee quality assurance activities, implement quality control processes, support continuous improvement initiatives. The candidate will also help maintain the effectiveness of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001:2015 standards.

The role covers both vessel-related activities and shore-based operations, with a focus on improving operational efficiency, service delivery, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management System (QMS)

  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company’s QMS in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
  • Ensure quality processes are effectively applied across marine logistics operations, vessel support activities, procurement, and shore-based functions.
  • Review and update quality procedures, work instructions, process documents, and operational standards.
  • Maintain quality records, manuals, registers, and controlled documents.
  • Monitor quality objectives, performance indicators, and recommend improvement actions.

Operational Quality Assurance

  • Conduct quality reviews to ensure operational activities comply with company procedures, client requirements, and industry standards.
  • Verify that marine logistics services meet agreed quality expectations and contractual obligations.
  • Monitor quality performance across vessel scheduling, logistics coordination, maintenance activities, procurement, and service delivery.
  • Review maintenance records, inspection reports, checklists, and other quality-related documents.
  • Identify quality issues, process gaps, and areas for improvement, and recommend corrective actions.

Audit and Compliance Management

  • Plan and coordinate internal quality audits across vessel and shore-based operations.
  • Support external audits from clients, certification bodies, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, maritime regulations, and quality standards.
  • Track audit findings and support the timely completion of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide quality reports and improvement recommendations during management reviews.

Vendor and Contractor Quality Management

  • Support the assessment and monitoring of vendors, contractors, and service providers.
  • Conduct supplier quality evaluations to ensure goods and services meet required standards.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with quality expectations and contractual requirements.

Continuous Improvement and Non-Conformance Management

  • Investigate quality complaints, service failures, and operational non-conformities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and support the development of corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Monitor corrective action effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Promote quality awareness and continuous improvement across the organisation.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare quality performance reports, audit summaries, trend analyses, and management updates.
  • Maintain accurate records of audits, non-conformities, corrective actions, supplier assessments, and quality metrics.
  • Provide regular updates to the QHSE Manager on QMS performance and improvement activities.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the QHSE Manager to support operational excellence and business goals.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Professional membership with COREN, NSE, or other relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.
  • ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in QA/QC within maritime, marine logistics, offshore services, oil & gas, or related industries.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and quality management tools.
